Information we collect
When you contact JF, the information may include your name, telephone number, email address, vehicle details, requested service, preferred date or time, photographs you choose to send, and the content of your enquiry.
The booking and contact forms on this website do not send information to a website database. They prepare an SMS or email on your device, and nothing is sent until you choose to send that message.
How the information is used
- To answer enquiries and take steps towards arranging a booking.
- To provide the agreed service, manage payment and contact you about the vehicle.
- To keep reasonable business, accounting and dispute records.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect the business or customers where necessary.
The usual lawful bases are taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract, complying with legal obligations, and legitimate interests in running and protecting the business. Consent will be used where the law specifically requires it.
Who information may be shared with
Information is not sold. It may be handled by the communication provider you use, the business email or telephone provider, the bank used for transfers, website hosting providers, professional advisers, or public authorities where disclosure is legally required.
Google Maps is not loaded until you select “Load map”. If you load it, your browser connects directly to Google and Google may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details.
How long information is kept
Enquiries that do not become bookings are normally removed within 12 months. Booking, payment and service records may be retained for up to six years where reasonably needed for accounting, legal claims or business records. Information may be kept for a shorter or longer period where the circumstances or law require it.
Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or to object to particular uses. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent.
Contact JF first to raise a concern. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Security and changes
Reasonable steps are taken to keep customer information secure and to limit access to people who need it. No internet or messaging system can be guaranteed completely secure.
This notice will be updated if the website, booking process or use of personal information changes.
